Legacy Plaza, consisting of The Texas Botanical Gardens and The Goldthwaite Welcome Center is located on one downtown city block in the heart of historic Goldthwaite, seat of Mills County in rural north Central Texas. Dedicated in memory of J. Waddy Bullion, the Gardens are open daily for visitors. We also offer a variety of on- and off-site educational programming for children and adults alike through field trips, presentations, and interactive hands-on experiences. Our Pavilion adjacent to the Gardens serves as a community gathering place. Forthcoming plans include the Native American Interpretive Center, which will exhibit ancient Texans' use of local plants and waterways, and the impact the natural environment of Central Texas had on their social, educational, spiritual, and cultural lives.
